چکیده
Recently, 3D Printing (3DP) has started disrupting transportation worldwide by providing enormous simplifications to requirements, especially in the context of city logistics. In near future, potential exists replace multi-echelon hubs with integrated logistics and printing manufacturing hubs. This study investigates this concept, particularly for healthcare product distribution (i.e., hearing aids) customers located within a environment. We propose an efficient mathematical model investigate various scenarios 3DP production planning provide insightful analysis. It might seem counter-intuitive that tighter delivery time slots can improve utilization capacity machines, but finds intelligent selection policies simultaneously benefit both customer supplier. By integrating delivery, identifies opportunities firms survive thrive era challenging

New City Logistics Paradigm: From the “Last Mile” to the “Last 50 Miles” Sustainable Distribution
The distribution of goods in urban areas, together with private traffic flows, are among the main sources of energy consumption, air pollution and noise. As a consequence, in the 2000s, several EU cities started to implement logistical solutions for the sustainable city. In this context, this study addresses the implementation of a new eco-logistic system, which serves multiple adjacent cities ...
متن کاملMinimizing waiting time in last mile delivery for smart city
Customers consider a reliable and on-time last mile delivery in Omni-channel business as important as price and good’s quality. We focus on minimizing the waiting time for customers and carriers in last mile delivery. We model the problem as an optimization problem and develop Genetic Algorithm to solve it.
متن کاملStrategic Planning for Disaster Recovery with Stochastic Last Mile Distribution
This paper considers the single commodity allocation problem (SCAP) for disaster recovery, a fundamental problem faced by all populated areas. SCAPs are complex stochastic optimization problems that combine resource allocation, warehouse routing, and vehicle fleet routing. Moreover, these problems must be solved under tight runtime constraints to be practical in real-world disaster situations. ...

The next leap in the communications market may be the extension of optical technology to access networks. Advanced fibre optical access equipment has been developed in the last decade and today trial tests are on the way and insular deployment has begun. The access network, the last mile, has not encountered any major changes of technology for a century. However, current advancements in technol...
متن کاملA Review of Last Mile Logistics Innovations in an Externalities Cost Reduction Vision
In this paper, a review of the recent scientific literature contributions on innovative strategies for last mile logistics, focusing on externalities cost reduction, is presented. Transport is causing problems in urban areas, in particular in freight transport: modern cities need solutions to reduce externalities costs such as congestion, pollution and others, which have increased in the last f...
